OBJECTIVES


GENERAL OBJECTIVE

The Graduate Program in Sociology at UFMG aims to develop high-quality activities in the areas of teaching, research, and community outreach. To this end, it trains researchers and professors capable of producing qualified scientific knowledge articulated within national and international networks, as well as adapting this knowledge to extend its impact beyond the boundaries of the university.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

To promote the production of innovative and relevant knowledge in sociology;

To provide excellent training in sociological research, with an emphasis on both quantitative and qualitative methods;

To foster national and international academic cooperation, encouraging the formation of collaborative networks for knowledge production;

To contribute to strengthening higher education at UFMG;

To promote interactions between academia, the state, and society, generating knowledge to support the development and evaluation of public policies;

To uphold the ethical principles of research in the Humanities.
